Chelsea suffer fifth consecutive defeat since Lampard’s return

Chelsea’s woes continue as the Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brentford at Stamford Bridge, their fifth consecutive loss since Frank Lampard returned as caretaker manager.

Cesar Azpilicueta’a own goal gave the visitors the lead in the 37th minute.

After the break, Bryan Mbeumo crowned Brentford’s efforts with a second goal to seal the victory, as Chelsea failed to find their way back into the game.

The defeat means Chelsea has gone eight games without a win for the first time since 1993 and is currently 11th on the log table.

They play London Rivals and league toppers, Arsenal in their next game.
