Manchester City reclaims top spot with victory over Brighton

Manchester City put three past Brighton to return to the apex of the Premier League, sending Liverpool back to second.

After playing out a barren first half, Man City eventually broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute through Riyad Mahrez and went on to build on the momentum with two more goals from Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

City might be back at the top, but they are fully aware that with just a point separating them and Jurgen Klopp’s side, the title race is far from over until it is, with their next task being a home game against relegation-threatened Watford on Saturday.
