Mofe Duncan Rebuked for buying three and a quarter plantain for N6K
Actor Mofe Duncan shared a photo of a bunch of three and a quarter plantain he bought for six thousand Naira, with regards to the situation of the economy. He captioned the post “This 3 & 3/4 bunch of plantain cost N6000 (six thousand naira). Read that again.? #WhereDoWeGoFromHere ?”
Netizens did not take this post likely as they heavily rebuked Duncan. On one hand, he was accused of lying because the plantain isn’t worth such an amount. On another hand, they said celebrities are part of the reason for the rise in the price of commodities.
Duncan was however shocked when he was accused of lying about the purchase. He took to Instagram to make a long rant about how celebrities are tackled and face criticisms regardless of whatever they do. He said that with the present state of the country, whether or not celebrities talk becomes an issue because their opinions are always analyzed and dissected.
He complained about the scrutiny he was subjected to by social media users, adding that being a celebrity is a curse sometimes as he has to filter whatever he’s posting, and even then, it still gets dissected and discussed.
Duncan expressed shock at how crazy it was that people were not there, but they were very sure that he lied about the price of the plantain he bought. He said he doesn’t regret spending such an amount on a barely-bunch of plantain because his addiction and craving for plantain made him drive for one hour and the 6k was a small token to pay to be happy although, at long last, the plantain did not meet his expectations.
