Manchester United extends poor start to the season with defeat to Brighton
Manchester United’s underwhelming start to the season has continued with another 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton.
There were expectations that Ten Hag’s men would bounce back from the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal before the international break, but the hosts were trailing Brighton by a goal at halftime, courtesy of former Man Utd player, Danny Welbeck.
New signing Rasmus Hojlund, thought he’d equalized but the goal was chalked off after a VAR review.
After the break, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro took the deficit to 3-0.
Substitute, Hannibal Mejbri, got a beautiful consolation goal for the Red Devils minutes after Brighton’s third goal, as the disappointed home fans watched their teams suffer the first defeat at Old Trafford in 32 games.
